I left my hometown on year 2007 of October. To be frank, i hardly to leave my hometown to KL which i decided to move on to begin a new life there. I wish i could come back but the KL lifestyle that i've been adapted seriously and totally hard to accept Penang of living standard. Compare both of them, Penang is the cheapest food ever than KL. However, the portion will be smaller and certainly can be order more and share with friends. (n_n) Talk about beaches, it is not as clean as East part. But it would be nice to relax on sand and look around at pretty women with bikini and muscular tan guys. LOL~ X-D
On first day on 17th of Nov 2012, i brought my friends which they are from KL, Malacca and Nibong Tebal. 3 of them came from different state except Nibong Tebal is consider under in Penang. However, they lived in KL for living and a person from Nibong Tebal who is seldom to go to Penang Island. So it's my pleasure for me to bring them around to the famous tourism places. (^^)After we had lunch, i brought them to the famous buddhist temple called Wat Buppharam Buddhist Temple "不巴南暹庙堂". It's the famous "Carry Buddha" to make a wish before you carry up. After that make a same wish when you can't carry up that's means your wish will comes true. It's really accurate even i don't believe as i tried it by myself! Some people think that's ridiculous but i couldn't carry up when i did the same wish! Unbelieveable!!! (>.<) Anyway, this temple is located at here. Just click on the link, foursquare will guide you. (^_~)

On next day, after we finished our PBIM run, we rested at my house for a while. We planned to start our journey in noon after lunch. We parked our car near to Lim Jetty and we walked around. The first place we visit was Clan Jetties which are Lim Jetty and Chew Jetty. There is a famous mural painting who painted "Children in a Boat" by Ernest Zacharevic at Chew Jetty. The sea is clean and clear compare than previously when i'm still here. Since State Minister has been voted to Dato Lim Guan Eng, everything has changed into 360 degrees which i hardly to imagine, and yet It's getting better and better. When i look into the sea, i wish i could jump down and swim. Too bad, i didn't bring my bikini. LOL~ X-D

These clusters of wooden houses were built by the Chinese poor immigrants who work near the port during the nineteen century. These immigrants migrated from the south-eastern coast of China, known as the Fujian Province over here due to the hardship they face in their homeland during that era. Later they brought their families over and made this waterfront their home. The Chew Jetty is still home to hundreds of people living in this area today but many have changed their social and economic lifestyle.
The jetty was initially rows of plank supported by stilts constructed as platform for passengers embarking and disembarking from the boats to the shores and vice versa. Later on, these platforms were joined together to become a jetty. As of today, not many people know the reason why these wooden houses were build on stilts by the side of the jetty. Furthermore, houses built on stilts was not a common practice in these immigrants homeland but more of the South East Asia adaptation. As more houses were built, wooden walkways and alleys branch out from the main jetty to become a cluster of home for these immigrants and their families.
The houses were built on an ad hoc basis and close to each other, with some separated by a small alley to allow sea breeze to pass through for the cooling effect. Some of the plank that runs between the narrow and twisted walkway used today are of the original ones. The jetty houses may look old and depleted but surprising very clean and tidy inside. Water and electricity was installed for them in 1954. You able to find even a well stock grocery store, and most houses has modern amenities like air-conditions, television, fridges – a proof that modernization can juxtapose with traditional lifestyle.

The second spot we went was also another mural painting which are "The Brother and Sister on the Swing" and "Children Playing Ball" but it was drew by another artist name Louis Gan. Newly painted few months ago after Ernest Zacharevic. I heard this will be the last mural painting in Penang as the government announced to stop for this activity. The main reason, i'm not sure. However, it's kinda wasted if stop to paint since this is a sense of art to attract many people to take photo and appreciate. Click here to find out more about Louis Gan's mural painting.
